The Teacher Creativity Center and the Ministry of Education Finalize Debate Program
Ramallah- Maan- the Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Teacher Creativity Center finalized a training workshop under the title “Student Dialogue Program-Debate” in the City Inn Palace Hotel in Ramallah from 21-24/January/2012. 
The workshop targeted 16 Civic Education, Arabic, and Science 9th grade teachers in northern West Bank educational directorates. The debate program comes within the context of sustainable cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Teacher Creativity Center, and it is a multidisciplinary curriculum utilizing interactive learning strategies, and focusing on action research skills, critical thinking, argument construction, and oration development. 
The program aims to empower teachers via utilizing unconventional teaching methods to develop self-learning skills among students, enhance team work and communication, develop leadership skills, and enhance dialogue management capabilities concerning ethical issues, such that opinions, arguments, and proofs are utilized consistently with freedom of speech concepts. 
The last day of the workshop was dedicated to selected school principles, and educational supervisors of the Ministry of Education, to be introduced to the working mechanism of the program, the role of the facilitator, the educational supervisor, and the school principle. Additionally, the importance of debate and dialogue was discussed as a strategy fitting the vocabulary and content of the curriculum. 
Participating in the training was Mr. Majed Abu Daood from Bethlehem Educational Directorate, Mrs. Afaf Najjar from Northern Hebron Education Directorate, Mr. Yasser Hussein from Nablus Educational Directorate, Mr. Ahmad Ammar head of supervision department in Tulkarem Directorate, and Mrs. Hala Qubbaj, coordinator of the program in the Teacher Creativity Center.
