The Teacher Creativity Center and Ma’an News Agency Sign Partnership Agreement to View Televised Media Programs
The Teacher Creativity Center and Ma’an News Agency signed, Thursday, a partnership agreement, during a ceremony held at the Teacher Creativity Center premises in Ramallah, to produce educational televised media programs for a period of a whole year.
The agreement was signed by Mrs. Nibal Thawabteh, President of Board of Directors at Ma’an News Agency, and Dr. Hisham Abu Qteish, President of Board of Directors at the Teacher Creativity Center.
The agreement entails the production and viewing of media programs reflecting the vision, mission, and programs of the Teacher Creativity Center by Ma’an News Agency, since it possesses the capabilities and resources to do so.
Ma’an will view 12 televised seminars, at an average of 1/month, provided that the first team undertakes all necessary preparations and coordination; additionally, Ma’an will air three televised episodes during the year 2012 with similar conditions to the first activity.
The two teams also agreed upon the production of a documentary film, with the aim of documenting the experience of the first team.
Engineer Raed Othman, General Director of Ma’an Network, said that the network is glad to form partnerships with non-governmental organizations, such that it serves the interest of the Palestinian people, emphasizing the readiness of the network to place all its journalistic capabilities and resources at the service of the Teacher Creativity Center and other Palestinian organizations.
Othman also added that the educational status is continuously on the decline, and therefore, Ma’an is interested to research the reasons behind this decline, and work with the Teacher Creativity Center to improve the quality of education, and disseminate the developmental educational vision to the Palestinian community.
Othman also clarified that the message of Ma’an Network is based on partnerships with organizations, emphasizing that the name “Ma’an” entails group work.
In her turn, Nibal Thawabteh said that education is a collective responsibility, instead of the sole responsibility of one organization, calling for the necessity to provide attention to the decline in the quality of education in Palestine, and praising the role of the Teacher Creativity Center in supporting action in this context.
Thawabteh affirmed that the two organizations ought to take advantage of this agreement of partnership to take action to develop the educational sector.
In his turn, Mr. Refaat Sabbah, General Director of the Teacher Creativity Center, said that this agreement with Ma’an is part of taking action to improve quality of education in Palestine.
Sabbah also emphasized the significant role of the media, hence the treaty with Ma’an network, who was able to acquire the trust of the Palestinian community by maintaining its neutrality in a highly difficult period.
Dr. Hisham Abu Qteish, clarified that this agreement with Ma’an is highly important to improve the quality of education, emphasizing the role of the media in education.
