1,154,000 students go back to schools in Palestine

Approximately 1 million and 154 thousand students marched to schools on Sunday, hoping for a sunnier day and a brighter future, with the beginning of the 2011/2012 academic year, after a 3-months summer vacation.
The Minister of Education, Lamis Al-Alami, verified that approximately 1 million and 154 thousands went back to school in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip; 682698 of which are in the West Bank, while the remaining 471552 attend schools in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Alami confirmed that the Ministry of Education finalized all the preparations for the initiation of the upcoming school year, adding that the books were distributed to the schools, which in turn will distribute them to the students in the next couple of days.
Al-Alami pointed out that “Education for All” is going to be the slogan of the Ministry of Education this year, since it is one of the goals of the ministry to provide education to every Palestinian child.
