Preparations to hold Central Arbitration and Closing Ceremony of Citizenship Project

Teacher Creativity Center in cooperation with Ministry of Education prepare to hold the central arbitration and closing ceremony of the 2011 citizenship project, in the Red Crescent Hall from 17-18/7/2011.
Preparations are being undertaken by the Center in cooperation with Ministry of Education to hold the central arbitration and closing ceremony for the citizenship project for the year 2011. Taking part of the arbitration will be the schools that received the first rank in the arbitration of their districts all over the West Bank, so that these schools can hold, among themselves, hearings and arbitrations to determine the winning projects within West Bank.
Participating in the arbitration will be 64 schools, from all districts in the West Bank, bringing 320 people in total representing the students, teachers, and supervisors of the citizenship project. 4 arbitration sessions will be held, with the 16 schools who received first rank in their district. It is worth noting that the citizenship project this year has been implemented in different sectors, including schools that focused on scientific themes, for which their projects dealt with subjects like the environment, desertification, water, and other. Other schools focused on mathematical themes, and chose problems affecting the Palestinian society and students’ learning, through their implementation of the projects that demonstrate their mathematical skills. The larger portion of the projects focused on topics of civil education, in which the students chose various topics that focused on educational, social, cultural, and other issues. All the problems that the students tackled were related to policy and local Palestinian laws. The schools were distributed into categories in order to use the methodology of the citizenship project to help improve the quality of education. This methodology is suitable for use by all teachers as a teaching methodology to contribute to shifting the educational pattern from classical to innovative, in which the student is the focus of the educational process.
